Ancient Phoenicia: Two Sidonian men (Mike Foster, Frank Gun) make love
to their wives (Kelly Trump, Maria Papp) - when they are suddenly
apprehended by the queen of Gomorra's female guards and brought to the
queen ... who orders them to fuck her guards for a bit first, then
double-team her. The men soon succumb to the queen's charms of course.
Gomorra seems to be a town of loose mores in general, as there is public
shagging in the streets and all. All of this happens to the chorus of a
volcano outbreak and crumbling buildings - which is of course all stock
footage, so it doesn't interfere with the on-screen sexual shenanigans.
There is a prophet (John Walton) who predicts doom of course, but will
anybody listen? (Hint: no.) The two Sidonian women want to save their
husbands, but to that end, they have to persuade the king of Sodom to help
them - and persuading means a threeway of course. Sodom though is no
better than Gomorra, as the prophet has to find out once he has been
thrown out of there and has put up residence here - and thus our two
Sidonian wives soon become the king's willing sex toys. Anyways,
eventually the prophet helps the girls get to Gomorra, where they plead
for the release of their husbands - but the queen humiliates them by
having sex with their men before their very eyes. For whatever reason,
the Sidonians have caused a diplomatic hiccup between Sodom and Gomorra,
so the king of here and the queen of there decide to solve all their
problems - fuckingly. And while they are at it, a volcano eruption and
earthquake destroys both kingdoms ... The movies of Joe
D'Amato's second porn era fall into three categories essentially: Those
that are surprisingly witty, those that are atrociously uninspired, and
those that are - well, quite ok, but nothing special. Sodom and Gamorra
falls into the third category, and is actually one of the better films of
this category, too: The sex of the movie is actually narratively motivated
(after all, the legend of Sodom and Gamorrah is rather
sex-fueled). Plus, the film is rather well-filmed and edited, and the
girls are all really hot in this one. That said, the film has its
shortcomings of course (which is why it's merely ok): Granted, it does
feature a genuine story with plottwists and narratively motivated sex, but
there are also way too many plotholes and narrative shortcuts for the
story to work derived of all the shagging, plus the whole thing takes
itself much too seriously to butter over inconsistencies. Finally, the
(very ok) stock footage is spliced into the plot rather badly, which
seriously prevents it from coming to full frutuition. In all though, ok
porn, D'Amato has made better but also (much) worse ...
