Because Lucy (Anna Callegari) has just broken up with her boyfriend
(Frank Garcia-Hejl) and feels shattered because of it, Eva (Lily Du)
decides to have a get together with her and her best friends, promiscuous
Ashley (Elyse Brandau), druggie Beth (Dana Clinkman), and of course Lucy's
bff Margot (Samantha Reece Schecter) - but the thing soon gets out of hand
when two guys, Pat (Patrick Foy) and Billy (Billy Bob Thompson) turn up
whom Ashley has invited for her own pleasure ... one of whom's madly in
love with Lucy. And then Lucy finds out each one of the girls except of
Eva has had sex with her ex, which leaves her understandably even more
shattered. And then a weird policeman (Dan Chamberlain) shows up and warns
everyone about a serialkiller prowling the neighbourhood - but the girls
think he's scarier than anything that might be out there, so getting rid
of him seems to set things right already ... but then the pizza they
ordered and re-ordered several times just doesn't arrive - because there
really is a serialkiller out there, and he's in the habit of killing pizza
guys - before entering the house to try and slaughter everyone inside ... The
Slashening is admittedly a rather silly movie - but it's silly in all
the right ways, as it quite apparently is very aware of the genre it's
making fun of, its mainstays and shortcomings as well as virtues ... and
thus throws the audience from one cliché into the next, but at the same
time it manages to tell an engaging enough story that this doesn't become
just a mindless chuckle-fest but also features suspense, jump scares, and
likeable characters. Plus, things get really bloody in the movie as well. Totally
worth a watch! And if this has gotten you at all interested,
