Annika (Carolin Hasselmann) claims to audition a young actress (Wenke
Baumgart) for a
comedy - but then she reveals to the actress that the comedy will actually
be a snuff movie, and she has been chosen for the lead ... and before you
know it, Annika has tied her up, too, and now she tortures her in various
grotesque ways, using everything from knives and big nails to an electric
hotplate (!). Meanwhile the actress's mum wakes up in her bathroom, next
to a tied up blonde, and she immediately wants to free the woman - when
she receives a call from Annika, telling her that in order to save her own
daughter, she has to drown the blonde. Now mother goes half out of her
mind, but in the end she realizes she has to save her daughter at all
costs, even if that means becoming a killer. Annika on the other hand
has decided to go on torturing her poor victim unitl her mother has
completed her mission - which is long enough to cut off the actress's foot
and send it over to her mum to really break her. However, Annika is not
ready yet, she now tells mum to cut off her own arm, otherwise she will
cut off her daughter's - because after all, aren't mothers supposed to
give an arm and a leg for their daughters. To be continued ... (?)
If you have seen Michael Huck's Unhappy
End!-episodes Das
Casting or Shakespeare
Strikes Again (it's English language remake), the beginning of
this featurette might seem slightly disappointing, because it seems to
repeat the earlier films' set-up almost word-by-word. However, once you
get past the first few minutes, The 7 Nightmares Girl develops into
a whole different and much more extreme direction, as while the characters
in Huck's Unhappy
End!-films are usually only borderline mad ... but Annika goes
all the way, which turns the attention of this film more and more on the
increasingly perverted ways of this woman to torture her lovely victim and
mindfuck her mother. And though this film is a whole lot less explicit
than other films of its kind (often labelled torture porn), it's a whole
lot more disturbing in plot. Definitely worth a look, but be warned,
this one might be nightmare-inducing!
