Rich Leonida (Mario Pisu) has had a stroke that has put him into a
waking coma, and now his relatives only wait for him to die for their
share of the inheritance, first and foremost Benito (Duilio Del Prete),
who has as good as signed a contract to sell Leonida's winery to rich
American Kitch (Jack Palance). Thing is, despite the doctor's pessimist
prognoses, Leonida just refuses to die. So Benito has an idea, to get
Leonida's blood pressure dangerously high, he hires the hottest nurse
imaginable, Anna (Ursula Andress), to treat him - and treat him in such a
seductive way that he eventually dies. Two things: 1) Under Anna's
treatment, Leonida actually gets quite a bit better, he awakens from his
coma, finds his will to live again, is dangerously close to becoming his
old self, and 2) Benito's nephew Adone (Stefano Sabelli) has overheard a
conversation between Anna and Benito where they detailed their plan to
kill the old man, and since he actually likes his grandpa, this might pose
a threat ... so Anna seduces Adone, and while she's at it tells them she
has a secret plan to save the old man despite what she and Leonida's have
plotted as she's no murderess, and now Adone becomes part of that plan
that makes Benito and the plan fire her for not killing Leonida - but that
conversation's overheard by Leonida himself via walky-talky - upon which
he throws his entire clan out of his house and marries Anna ... but then
dies while having sex in their wedding night ... Now the best
thing about The Sensuous Nurse is, let's be honest, that Ursula
Andress does get stark naked quite a few times, and she's looking simply
gorgeous. The rest of the film ... well, it's a rather meaningless comedy
caught somewhere between soap opera motives and pure slapstick, with some
nudity (not only by Andress) thrown in for good measure, but frankly it's
neither sexy nor funny enough, and the plot is less than engaging. Now
sure, for fans of the genre like myself, the film does hold quite a bit of
vintage charm, but that doesn't make it a good film by far, just an ok
curiosity ...
