6 teens (Cyn Dulay, Tom Lodewyck, Heather Chilson, Mark Edwards,
Patricia Melone, Andy Schatner) go on a camping trip, but everything goes
wrong from base one: First they lose their supplies, then they can't get
along with the locals, then they realize they don't like each other all
that much ... and oh, then the spot they have picked for their campsite is
the stalking ground for the local Satanists - and they kill our teens one
by one, until only Karen (Cyn Dulay), who has terminal cancer (though I
have no idea why that's of the least importance for the movie) is left
alive and she even manages to escape the Satanists thanks to a local hick (Karl
Sundstrom) she and her pals have formerly ridiculed. She also kills a few Satanists on her own after her hick friend is bumped off, and
is helped by the ghosts of two of the Satanists' former victims (Nikki
Taylor Melton, Catherine Dughi) - but in the (rather confusing) ending she
lands in the claws of the Satanists after all. Your typical
clichéd and uninspired slasher movie, and the fact that the killers this
time are Satanists and the film was allegedly inspired by true events does
little to make the whole thing any better - or worse for that matter.
Basically, we are treated to a bunch of kids who can't act running through
decidedly uncreepy sets in a suspense- and tension-free manner - and
there's a bit of gore thrown in every now and again. A film you have
forgotten right after viewing, and not worth your time and money.
