Post apocalyptic England: Richard III (Luke McGibney) was an unsightly
child, malformed in more ways than one, and thus all through his
childhood, he was the prime target of bullying ... but he made his
weaknesses his strengths and started to fight back, and he soon learned to
succeed in this is to outdo everyone else in savagery. Now this came to
full effect only after the big bomb had dropped, mixing up civilisation as
we know it, and whoever's the most violent is sure to have the advantage
over everyone else - and thus began Richard's rise to power. Eventually,
Richard falls in love with Lady Anne (Jolie Myatt), and even though she
knows he has killed her husband (Darren Blakey) in battle, he figures
she'll love him back - he learns differently when she brings a knife to
their lovenest, and thus begins Richard's downfall ... Focusing
on the "love story" between Richard III and Lady Anne from
Shakespeare's Richard III, this 12 minute movie is not so much your
typical Shakespeare-adaptation but a disturbing psychogram of a disturbing
character, told in an unusual and totally fascinating mix of
animated pictures and live action sequences, brought together rather
atmospherically to build a beautiful whole. Quite a film, actually!
