Working at a homeless shelter, Kayla (Dominique Storelli) learns that
one of the place's regulars has died under mysterious circumstances - so
she calls Mark (Robert Tovani), her police contact to provide her with
some facts - and he tells her she has bled to death after giving birth ...
problem is, the baby hasn't been found. Fate has it that Kayla is also
vigilante superheroine Centurion and Mark is the superhero Avenger, so
they figure they have to investigate. Fellow superheroine Phantom Faye
(Kylie Contrearie) even manages to pick up a mental trail to the baby and
wakes it up from its sleep ... and that's where problems begin, because
upon waking up, the "baby" obviously blows up Retcon labs ...
not a good thing since Retcon is a company specializing in genetic
engineering with a penchant for creating superheroes - Kayla the Centurion
being one of their successes - until the project was officially abandoned
tue to a few too many shady experiments. But apparently with the baby,
they have secretly picked up operation again, and the "baby" has
grown into a full-grown man within days - and now that he (Michael
Huntsman) has grown to full capacity regarding his superpowers but is
still underdeveloped mentally, it's impossible even for the Centurion, the
Avenger, Phantom Faye and their friend the Specialist (Hidekun Hah) to
bring him under control, since his powers are way superior to theirs ... Obviously
not made on the same budget as the major studio superhero sagas that
"grace" the big and small screens these days, this pilot of The
Retcon Chronicles proves that superhero stories can indeed be
interesting if they focus on character and story more than on spectacle,
explosions, and barking guys with pointy ears. That's not to say the
action in this film isn't well-conceived because it is, but it isn't
over-shadowing the story, a story that is built up rather nicely without
boring the audience to death with origin stories (a major flaw of many
superhero movies), but really leaves one longing for more ... And

proper series, you might want to go here: http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/the-retcon-chronicles
