Betty (Essy Persson) and her boyfriend Bob (Erik Schumann) try to rob a
jewelery store one night, but something goes horribly wrong, and the whole
thing ends with her being arrested and him making an escape to Scotland,
where he assumes a new identity and starts working in a roadhouse
somewhere in the middle of nowhere.
In prison, Betty is soon hardened, and ultimately she has no scruples
to even kill the lesbian warden (Ellen Schwiers) to break out with four
other convicts, Esther (Gabriella Giorgelli), Sylvia (Dominique Boschero),
Jane (Karin Field) and too innocent to be true Linda (Helga Anders). The
quintet heads for Scotland, leaving a trail of corpses behind, and when
they arrive at the roadhouse, they kill the owner as well and pretty much
take it over - much to the dismay of Bob, who has in the meantime tried to
leave his past behind and on top of that soon starts an affair with Jane.
Betty soon enough has a plan to get some much-needed money to make an
escape from Great Britain for good: She plans to kidnap rich Mrs Oland
(Margot Trooger) and keep her for ransom ... and the kidnapping part even
goes alright too, but her husband does not even want her back, so he
pays them with obviously forged money, but tracks them down back to the
roadhouse, sneaks in and kills his wife himself, to put the blame on our
five girls, then he calls the police (who soon enough find out who
really did the killing though).
The five girls are in a desperate position, so they take a disabled
girl who has just come by the roadhouse hostage and try to get away with
her, but innocent Linda at this time actually switches sides and helps the
police track all the girls plus Bob down, and Betty and Bob even die in a
final shootout.
Not a great film but a nice piece of exploitation, girl gang style,
that pretty much uses all the clichés the genre has to offer, throws in a
few women's prison scenes as well, and finds plenty of excuses to show the
girls in their underwear (there is no actual nudity in this one) and has
them do quite a bit of dirty talk. Plus the girls are all so ruthless it's
nothing short of exhilarating. All this, as mentioned above, does not make
a great movie, but am fast paced one and a half hours of borderline sleazy
entertainment. And even though you know better, you might like it.
