Teenaged Mae (Elise Eberle) is fittingly outraged when she finds her
slightly younger brother Nolan (Sloane Morgan Siegel) hiding in her
wardrobe - only, her brother seems a little off, he acts as if he doesn't
know her, seems to be constantly on edge, and has a strange fascination
for mirrors. All of this is because Nolan is in fact from another
dimension, a dimension where Mae was never born, and where has found a way
to travel between dimensions via mirror. Of course, when he tells her that
she doesn't believe one word of it - until he proves to her he can
actually travel through mirrors. And it seems even though he has pretty
much just met Mae as his sister, Nolan feels he can trust her. Thing is,
there's someone after Nolan, someone with evil intentions pursuing him
through dimension after dimension, who has almost caught up with him, and
Nolan figures Mae might be the key to destroy him - but at the same time
he doesn't want to endanger his new-found sister ... A fun
sci-fi thriller that keeps things moving at a steady pace, features its
fair share of suspense which is nicely outbalanced with flashes of humour,
and which uses its (probably budgetary) constraints, like limited
locations, to its advantage by making them a key element of the plot. And
a small but capable ensemble makes the rather far-fetched story relatable
for its audience, resulting in nice genre entertainment.
