For those uninitiated, Ox Baker was a professional wrestler, who got
his start in 1964, eventually became well known as a "heel"
character, something that was well-supported by his eccentric looks,
including a shaved head and bushy-to-a-fault black mustache and eyebrows -
plus he was one of the most eloquent men in the ring and always willing
and able to put on a show that went beyond just grappling. This
film basically consists of an interview conducted a year before his death
in 2014, and pretty much has him tell about his life in a long stream of
thought - and this is pretty much brings his eloquence to the fore, as
interviewer Mike Messier hardly interjects any questions and Baker just
keeps talking ... and keeps things interesting with many an anecdote and
plenty of insight into the business and the showmanship side of wrestling,
so despite the film's talking heads imagery, one can really get into the
story, even if one has no idea who Ox Baker might have been or isn't all
that much into wrestling. Worth a look for sure!
