A documentary filmmaker thinks he's hit the Holy Grail for his next
film: He has tracked down a necrophiliac, Haydn (Dylan Jake Price a.k.a.
Wade Radford), who has agreed to do an on-camera interview. And Haydn
freely talks about his predilection, about his techniques, his tricks to
evade discovery, everything - all while insisting he wouldn't ever murder
anyone to have sex with her or him. Soon though, our documentarian
starts to realize he's bitten off more than he might be able to chew on,
as Haydn is not one to let him vivisect him as documentarians usually do,
but tends to carry the conversation, poke holes into his opposite's
objective attitude, and prove his intellectual equal if not superior. But
the shit really hits the fan when Haydn invites our filmmaker to check out
his bedroom, and he finds a rather decomposed corpse on Haydn's bed - and
from here it only gets worse ... Now I think it's a fair thing
to say that Necrophiliac: The Lustful Dead is most certainly not a
film, or rather a fake documentary, for everyone: Not only is its subject
matter morbid, gross, offensive and shocking, it also doesn't really hold
back in its approach or even dialogue. That said, if you're up for diving
into the subject head-first, you'll be rewarded with a well-staged piece
of powerplay in which the roles of master and servant are reversed before
too long. This is helped by a sort of cold approach to the subject matter
that fits the (fake) documentary approach to the film's story so well and
at the same time makes what happens all the more disturbing, and of course
by a creepy performance by Wade Radford, greatly contrasted by Jason
Impey's reserved documentarian. In all, I have to repeat, certainly not
for everytone, but if you're into disturbing shit, this is the shit! Sidenote:
In a line of dialogue, Haydn refers to an earlier Radford/Impey
collaboration, Twink, a movie not
at all unlike this one.
