Accidently eavesdropping on Lily (Yvonne De Carlo) and Marilyn (Beverly
Owen), Herman Munster (Fred Gwynne) and Grandpa (Al Lewis) come to the
conclusion Lily must be pregnant. Herman though is a bit puzzled that Lily
doesn't tell him at all, despite the fact that he drops hint after hint
after hint. So he and Grandpa pay a visit to the family doctor (Paul
Lynde) for confirmation, and he confirms them Lily's expecting a child ...
but fails to clarify it's his own son Elmer (Peter Robbins) who will stay
with them for a week while the doctor's out of town. Now imagine Herman's
disappointmenmt when he finds out his (assumed) son Elmer looks so ...
human. Fun episode of The Munsters that doesn't
even so much play on the series' usual formula - the confrontation of the
normal world and the Munsters' (horror-inspired but actually very square)
lifestyle but keeps the story pretty much within the household, with the
"outside world" entering as a sort of punchline only at the end.
Add to this all-around great performances, and you've got something you'll
almost certainly laugh about.
