Reporter Jimmie Dugan (Roger Pryor) wirtes a series of articles about
homeless girls gone missing, mainly thanks to a white slave ring - but
when questioned about it by the police, he refuses to give away the
informers he had for writing his articles - and is therefore condemned to
30 days in prison - which actually isn't quite as bad as it would appear
to be - wouldn't it be for her girlfiend Dorothy's (Muriel Evans) father
(Wallis Clark) - a senator trying to crack down the gambling racket -
being kileld by mobsters (Noel Madison, Dewey Robinson), who also take
Dorothy and her maid Ann (Ann Doran) hostage ... and behind chains, Jimmy
suddenly finds himself unable to do anything to save his girl - if it
wasn't for two crooks who know where the girls are held and who want to
get their hands on the reward money but who are also behind bars, and they
provide Jimmie with the necessary information.
Once out, Jimmie infiltrates the gang of the kidnappers with the help
of the FBI, and eventually he succeeds in bringing them all to justice
while freeing the girls.
A cheap little crime thriller of course, and certainly not a great
movie, but exciting enough to keep you entertained for its running time of
roughly an hour.
