He (Walter Alonso) doesn't want to spend Christmas alone, so he tries to
find the perfect girl to keep him company over the holidays. Thing is, his
demands regarding the perfect companiion are pretty high, so much so that
eventually becomes apparent that there's no one woman who can fulfill all
of his expectations - so why not piece her together out of different
girls? Of course, this leads to quite a bit of a panic, especially when
some of the severed bodyparts he has discarded turn up all over town. And
yet, pretty Claudia (Penélope Bogado), like him a single looking for a
holiday companion, meets for a blind date with our hero, and of course he
before long falls in love with her mind and decides on beheading her - but
he's in for a nasty surprise ...
Now this is a fun one for sure, especially since it's built up like an in
the best sense of the world old-fashioned short story that drrives the
narrative to a point where one can almost anticipate the ending only then
instead come up with a surprise plot twist that despite being perfectly
macabre in nature doesn't fail to make one chuckle. And Marcelo Fabani*s
direction that goes for a very factual, almost documentarian beginning to
a very intimate third act perfectly captures the story's mood while the
small cast keep things wonderfully relatable, making this a fun genre
piece.
