It's the morning after another night with her lover (Wade Thalberg) in
a cheap motel, and yet again, Ellie (Amy Radloff) asks him to leave his
wife (Rebekah DeWild), knowing very well what his answer will be (again).
Now Ellie knows that she remains with him only due to her low self esteem,
and of late she even does counseling about this, to learn to take her life
into her own hands. But she might have overshot that target this morning
...
Low Self Esteem is a fun little movie that manages to
pack a lot into its roughly 3 minutes of running time (including a twist
ending) while not in the least feeling narratively rushed and pretty much
relying on the lead character's monologue - and it all works thanks to a
clever script and an inspired central performance, plus a directorial
effort giving the story its room to breathe. And the result is good,
slightly macabre entertainment!
