This is the story of "Lobster Girl", a stripper with lobster
claws for hands, who the guys go crazy about - and sometimes, too crazy.
And it's the story of an aborted fetus coming back for revenge. And of a
raped girl starting to identify with her rapist, mainly because after the
deed she's shunned by everyone else ... Now one thing's for
sure, Lobster Girl and Other Tales is not for those of the
politically correct denomination, as it tells stories of a certain
twisted-ness and perversion that they can be easily taken as offensive -
even if in this narrative approach there's more honesty than in a hundread
white-washed tales to fit the "good taste" of society. So I
guess one has to be rather accepting to enjoy this movie - and to enjoy,
there's plenty of here, from warped storytelling to breathtaking designs
to a directorial effort that settles the film somewhere between motion
comic and cartoon, but remains always visually compelling, and on the
ball, storywise. So basically, this is quite a trip of a movie, not for
everyone, that's for sure, but well worth a watch for the more adventurous
among us ...
