After Doug (Kevin James) has taken his eccentric stepdad Arthur (Jerry
Stiller) out with him and his friends, his wife Carrie (Leah Remini) shows
her gratitude by treating him to a round of anal sex. So Doug figures he
might take Arthur out more often. Sure, arthur is getting on his nerves,
but anal sex ... After arthur has insulted all of Doug's friends though,
and the anal sex thing isn't working out as well as it's supposed to be
(Carrie doesn't show her gratitude every time), Doug decides it's time to
drop his scheme - but how, without breaking Arthur's heart? So Doug
confides into Carrie and asks her to sort things out - but she lures Doug
into a rhetorical trap, and now it seems he's stuck with Arthur for the
rest of his life ... The plot of this episode might not be 100%
convincing, but performances and dialogue are 100% on-spot, and that's
pretty much what counts. By the way, the words anal sex
are never exlicitely being said in this episode, but when a squealing Ned
Beatty - a reference to his rape in Deliverance
- is mentioned, there is little doubt what everybody is talking about.
