Doug (Kevin James) sees a photo of his wife Carrie's (Leah Remini)
mother, who's apparently terribly overweight, and believes Carrie's father
(Jerry Stiller), who tells her its in the genes and Carrie will become fat
just like her mother before too long as well. Now Doug - despite being
about twice her size - tries to persuade his slim wife to go on a diet,
but when he even suggests she might have gained a couple of pounds, his
life becomes a living hell, and suddenly he finds himself on a diet and
she refuses him sexually - but ultimately, Carrie herself gets paranoid
about her weight and now Doug manages to cheer her up ... Not
that the premise of this episode is too well-conceived, and the resolution
definitely leaves something to be desired, but Kevin James and Leah Remini
definitely make up for it acting-wise, and some good dialogue of course
doesn't hurt either.
