Faced with a tough situation during a meeting at work, Mike (Tom
Mariano) tries to speak up - but the child in jester costume (Brendan
Meehan) next to him only he can see won't let him via simple gestures,
making him miss a chance. An artist (Sheetal Kelkar) wants to be noticed
at a gallery, but the girl next to her dressed in one of her paintings
(Jamie Braddy) whom only she can say makes it impossible for her to really
get over herself, so she goes home unnoticed - and on her bus home she
meets Mike ... besides a host of other people with their alter egos who
hold them back. And then a military veteran missing an arm (William
DeCoff) apparently can't take it anymore, so he pulls a gun and ... Ok,
in writing this film might sound a bit boring, but in this case this is
not the writer's fault but a testament to the film (and thus the
filmmaker) who turns a very simple, metaphorical tale about anxiety into a
(mostly) silent lyrical piece that doesn't try to hammer its message home
but packs it into a weirdly beautiful mood piece, the odd imagery of which
only really helps to make its topic relateable. A very unusual movie,
that's not to be missed though!
