Major Tony Nelson (Larry Hagman) promises his genie Jeannie (Barbara
Eden) a day on the beach - but instead his work takes him onto a yacht
where he's supposed to be the "entertainment" of the daughter of
a rich aerospace bigshot. Jeannie finds out about this and follows him
onto the yacht, but after an argument with Tony she just blinks herself
away. Mr aerospace and daughter were witnesses of almost all of this, but
now they think Tony has thrown Jeannie overboard - and thus he's thrown
into the slammer. Imprisoned Tony asks his best friend Major Healey
(Bill Daily) to ... well, talk to his house, since Healey has no idea of
Jeannie's existence, but Tony figures if Healey talked to the house,
Jeannie might listen. Somehow this works out, and once Jeannie blinks
herself into Tony's cell, he can prove he's not a killer and is released. Narratively,
this episode does not work too well, the "woman disappearing from the
yacht"-ploy does not really spark that much interest, nor does the
ultimate solution - and that said the episode is also pretty funny as it
shows Barbara Eden and Larry Hagman once again at the top of their game. Basically,
don't espect much and you'll be rewarded.
