Tony (Larry Hagman) is deeply concerned about his best friend Roger
(Bill Daily), because Roger has been seeing a psychic, Madame Zolta (Jorja
Curtright) of late, and psychics are of course nonsense ... not that
living with his genie Jeannie (Barbara Eden) wasn't, but - oh well. Roger
makes Tony accompany him to a reading though, and at first she really
impresses Tony, until he starts talking about his dead relatives and she
readily answers - dead relatives he never had. The following night,
Tony, who has since managed to recreate all of the psychic's tricks,
accompanies Roger to a seance - and without his knowledge, Jeannie is also
there, and with her magic she scares both Madame Zolta and uninvited guest
psychiatrist Dr Bellows (Hayden Rorke) out of their minds ... Real life
legendary test pilot Chuck Yeager (the man who broke the sound barrier)
makes a small and relatively pointless guest appearance as himself in this
one. Not
one of the best episodes, as it actually tries to be pretty clever, and
Jeannie is rather carelessly thrown into this one with little narrative
function, but it's at least a bit of a laugh still ...
