When it comes to killing people, Leland (David Will No) is among the best,
which is why when he wants to quit his job as an assassin, his boss
Shidoshi (Lawrece Mah), even if Leland has the most noble of reasons for
leaving a life in constant danger behind; His girlfriend Susie (Ola Chan)
is pregnant. Shidoshi has one more job for
Leland though, to deliver a bomb in a suitcase to a certain address - and
only too late does Leland realize the suitcase is actually meant for
Susie. Sure, he can still dash to her and hope he arrives in time to save
her - but it's exactly then that he runs into a gang of goons out to have
their revenge on him, and they're apparently determined to stop at nothing
in their attempt to kill him ...
Now admittedly, when it comes to premise and plot, The Huntsman
doesn't exactly thread new ground, but then again the film's a
mere 12 minutes long and pretty fast paced so one doesn't really notice or
care. But what really makes this movie are its fight and action scenes
which are not only inventive and well-executed, they actually rival major
studio movies in quality, and they're relentless, too. So if you're at all
into vintage action cinema, you ought to seriously think about giving this
hidden gem a watch.
