Rock band Libra
(Dani Thompson Abigail Lawson, Martin Scott, Kyle Cochrane, Jack Rundle)
has pretty much hit rock bottom: They can't afford studio time so record
at a bandmember's flat while their record label threatens to drop them
should their next single flop. Thing is, that single is to be released
tomorrow, and the band's still in the studio working on it, less than
certain they'll deliver anything worthwhile. Then bandmember Ruby (Dani
Thompson) finds a success ritual on the internet, a ritual that includes a
pentagram and a sacrifice, so something's just bound to go wrong, but the
band's so desperate for success they would do anything at that point ...
and yes, the single turns out to be a massive success the next morning.
But of course, there is a price to pay ...
A fun little horror film that might not exactly re-invent the wheel
storywise, but it's entertainingly told - with some comedy thrown in by
George Heron and Janet Brown as the band's downstairs neighbours -, nicely
directed and performed by a relatable cast. So in all, well worth a watch
for sure.
