Invasion of Privacy: Dennis (Kim
Sønderholm) is a bit of a weirdo ... well, actually he's
more of a psycho who likes to spy on women via camera and eventually
kidnap, tie up and torture them. This time around, the object of his
desire is Laura (Ditte Ussing) - who even goes so far as to invite him
into her apartment because she feels being watched. Thing is though that
she and her boyfriend (Lars Bjarke) are a couple of psychos who love to
punish weirdos like Dennis ... The Dead Chick in the Closet: John
(Pontus Olgrim) has a problem: He finds out the chick he has just found
naked in his bed and shagged is dead. He calls his best pal Phil (Andreas
Rylander) to help him get rid of the corpse, but that's where things start
falling apart, because before you know it, Phil and his designated driver
Ben (Anders Menzinsky) are dead too, by accident of course, and now, John
has to hide of three corpses before his fiancée (Penelope
Papakonstantinou) arrives and then deal with their spirits while she's
here ... The Medium: When a medium investigates a haunted
abandoned movie theatre, he has to realize the resident spirit is the
owner's mother whose father has killed her under the influence of a demon,
a demon that now takes possession of the son who tries to kill the medium
... Restroom: A strung-out guy goes totally bonkers on a public
restroom, and he seems to be suffering from paranoia - until a gunman
shoots him down in cold blood. Mr. Happy Sunshine: A guy keeps a
slave in a box he uses as his personal TV-announcer ... Horror
Vault 2 is a terribly uneven collection of films: Invasion of
Privacy is a very nice short story-style short, with Kim
Sønderholm giving another great and disturbing performance
as psycho. The Dead Chick in the Closet is a bit of an in-your-face
horror comedy that's way more predictable as the filmmakers have probably
intended ... yet most of the segment's jokes really work, so it's a real
fun ride. From here on it goes downhill though: The Medium is a
very straightforward shocker that offers very little new insight into the
medium, Restroom is a tad too experimental for it's own good, while
Mr. Happy Sunshine tries way too heavy to be quirky and absurd to
actually work. All that said though, the film is still worth a peak, if
mainly for its first two segments ...
