There is a murderer on the loose, and at first, suspicion falls upon
Shiang (Donnie Yen), but somehow he manages to convince the cops after
him, Chen (Ben Lam) and Shamen (Chui Hei Man), otherwise - but his claims
that the killings were actually comitted by the Moon Monster (Ken Lo) are
a bit far-fetched ... until the professor who backs up these claims, Chor
(Kathy Chow) is brutally murdered. To track down and kill the killer,
Shiang is off to Cambodia together with Chen, Shamen, and reporter Chow
(Mai Te-Lo), but once there, Shamen is soon abducted by local badman Ma
Tin (Tsui Fat), who is in league with the Moon Monster, but our heroes
team up with the White Princess (Pauline Yeung), whose tribe the Moon
Monster wants to take over. From here on it's fight scene upon fight
scene, often of the supernatural variety, but it ends (reasonably)
happily: The Moon Monster is killed, so are Ti Man and his machine-gun
wielding henchmen, Shamen is freed, the White Princess returns to her
tribe as their ruler ... and only Chow has to die a hero's death. Rather
weak martial arts/horror hybrid that might feature some quite well-done
and at times even inventive fightscenes and a bit of female nudity on the
side, but the whole thing is just too straight-forward on one hand, too
irony-free on the other to spark much interest in its story. Pity, this
could have been good, only it isn't.
