On their way to Redondo Beach, California for Spring Break, a quartet
of teens (Kiren David, Hank Horner, Beverly Lynne, Jonathan Gray) pick up
a hitchhiker, Lucinda (Phoebe Dollar) - who unfortunately soon starts to
act weird, crazy even, claiming she has killed the teens' friends (who are
racing them to Redondo Beach), threatening them at gunpoint and
fingerbanging one of them, Sarah (Kiren David). Fortunately though, our
teens manage to throw Lucinda out of the car and hightail it. However,
Lucinda, who seems to be in league with the Devil (at least that's what
she claims), manages to catch up with them again and again, even though at
one point, the teens run her over. squash her body, and (unintentionally)
drag her torso behind their car (which hangs on the car by its
intestines). Finally, Lucinda catches up with them and kills them one
after the other, using guns, knives and chainsaws, and she seems to be
perfectly capable to multiply and attack in numbers. Finally, only Sarah
is left alive and on the run from not one but two Lucindas, when some
masked gouvernment operatives take the Lucindas out. Sara wakes up in a
top secret gouvernment installation, where a certain sinister Doctor
Sullivan (Garrett Clancy) explains to her Lucinda, or rather the Lucindas
(there were four of them) are the result of a secret cloning experiment
gone horribly wrong. But now that Sarah knows about it, Sullivan can't let
her go, instead plans to use her for his new cloning experiment ... when
Lucinda shows up, guns in hands and ready to kill. Porn legend Ron
Jeremy plays a car driver who picks up hitch-hiking Lucinda and gets his
penis cut off as a thank you. Ok, admittedly the plot of this
film is slightly silly and the final explanation even borders the
ridiculous. The film as such however is actually pretty good, one of these
low budget wonders that proves that one doesn't need a lot of money to
turn out a decent shocker, and that good pacing, carefully placed shocks
and an inventive approach to the genre are far more worth than high
production values. Add to this an ensemble cast capable enough to carry
the plot and some quite original gore scenes and you've got yourself a
pretty cool horror flick. Recommended.
