Ok, so there is a dangerous serial killer on the loose but what does that
matter to Marie, (Levi Heaton)? After all, she just wants to drive home
for Christmas to re-unite with her estranged husband and daughter. But
when she sees a car stranded at the side of the road, she of course checks
- and suddenly finds Alan (Richard Galloway) on the backseat of her car,
who leaves her in no doubt that he is the serialkiller in question - and
he'd kill her, too, only he needs somebody to drive him to the coast as
he's in a hurry to leave the country, and, as luck has it, he doesn't know
how to drive. So the two form a very uneasy alliance, and things go fine -
until her car runs out of gas ... Now one can't help but love this
film as it makes the most out of what seems to be its main shortcoming:
It's almost entirely set in and around a car, with the story moving along
in pretty much real time. But thanks to a strong screenplay full of punchy
dialogue and a good eye for suspense, this has become a very tense
thriller, also helped of couse by two lead actors that aren't only
brilliant in their own right but also bounce off of each other rather
nicely. In all, a definitely worthwhile movie.
