Pretty much out of the blue, Devi (Happy Salma) and Handy (Okan
Kornelius) are haunted by the ghost of the little girl, a ghost that
weirdly enough is good friends with their daughter Caca (Bulan Ayu).
However, when the ghost starts possessing the girl every now and again,
Devi and Handy start to really worry and try to hook up with a psychic -
who's soon run over by a car before their very eyes ... Ultimately, Caca
simply disappears in a car accident, and not a trace can be found of her -
but then Devi starts looking for clues in Caca's drawings, and she finds a
trail to an illegal abortion clinic, a clinic she went to to abort her
first child. At the now abandoned clinic, Devi and Handy find Caca again,
but she is possessed by the ghost who now turns out to be their aborted
daughter Cinta, and she accuses Devi and Handy of all kinds of
things, before trying to kill Caca. Devi though shields her (living)
daughter with her own body, at the expense of her own life - and Handy
goes completely crazy and retreats into his own world in which he and Devi
are raising their first daughter Cinta. And if for some reason you did
not catch the message of the film, the ending literally spells it
out: "Say no to abortion!" Nothing special but an ok
horror thriller with some quite atmospheric scenes, and leading lady Happy
Salma proves herself quite capable of carrying the film. On the negative
side though, the solution to the whole mystery is given away way too soon
(even the title hints at it, and I don't even speak Indonesian), and the
delivery of its message is anything but subtle. Still, there are way worse
films with the word Hantu in the title around.
