Computer genius Marcus (Peter Haskell) claims to be able to predict the
crimes of master criminal the Green Hornet via his computer, and has been
right so far, too, and thus he approaches publisher Britt Reid (Van
Williams) to help him pitch his product. Good idea so far, but what Marcus
doesn't know is that Reid is secretly the Green Hornet, and the Green
Hornet is secretly not a criminal at all but a crimefighter. And the
crimes attributed to the Hornet by Marcus' computer were committed by
someone else ... Marcus most probably. The Green Hornet (the real one)
pays Marcus a visit and claims he wants in on his operation since the
crimes are attributed to him anyways - and Marcus tries to lure the Green
Hornet into a trap, but makes the mistake of using Britt Reid and his
newspaper as bait ... and thus the Green Hornet evades the trap and
captures Marcus when he's about to commit his crime of the century, the
theft of a superlarge gold shipment ... Actually one of the
more enjoyable episodes of The Green Hornet, basically
because of its over-the-top premise and campy narrative construction. That
all doesn't make the episode anything close to a masterpiece, but
entertaining still.
