Satomi (Hitomi Miwa) reports to the police that her daughter has been
kidnapped, & the police is naturally more than eager to help ... until
Satomi's husband tells them she is quite mad, shouoldn't be taken all that
seriouxsly & furhtermore ... she has no daughter. Furiously, the cops
prepare to leave Satomi's appartment ... when psychic women Mamiya (Yoshiko
Yura) shows up, & tells them the kidnappers will phone in an instant
... & even though the cops don't believe in Satomi's daughter, they are
persuaded by the psychic. Soon too, the kidnappers call, & with her psychic
powers, Mamiya can track them down to a weird house. Eager top free her
daughter, Satomi enters the house disguised as acampaign helper for politician
Panchi Ketamura, but she can''t find her daughter anywhere in the house, al she
finds out is that there is not one single bathroom in the house (which makes
her think). Leaving the house, she is caught by politician Panchi himself,
who, believing her to be one of his helpers, takes her with him in his
campaighn bus. But he seems to be less interested in politics & more in
raping Satomi ... Later, it turns out that he might not be from this earth at
all, when ... Satomi wakes up, it's exactly the moment again when psychic
Mamiya entered her appartment & stopped the cops from leaving. Again, the
kidnappers call (this time it turns out the call comes from the house of
Satomi's mother), & they tell her to go to a library to read a book on the
history of Indians ... & that soon pulls her into a conspiracy theory about
Indian aliens wanting to invade the world, & she learns the only help she
can count on are 2 FBI-agents, Narimoto (Hiroshi Abe) & mad Lucy (Tomomi
Kuribayashi), & Narimoto it seems has a very personal agenda working on
this case, as years back, his ex-girlfriend did turn out to be an alien. Eventually,
time is turned back once again, & once again, Satomi enters the strange
house with no bathrooms, only this time, she recognizes it as her mother's
house, & her mother is full of concern for her. Then even politician Panchi
shows up, the house takes off for a flight, & Panchi pulls the kid he has
procreated when raping Satomi (which actually was on a different time plane,
was it not ?) from her womb, & Satomi is thrown out of the house, back to
earth. Months later, Satomi pursues her mother, Panchi, & her daughter
(the kid Panchi has pulled from her womb), & once she has caught up with
them, she soaks them in petrol & burns them. As nobody believes her alien
abduction story, she is considered raving mad & convicted to the gas
chamber ... where she realizes she has fallen prey to some gouvernment
conspiracy & has become the guinea pig in an experiment conducted by
psychic Mamiya who wants to test some new gas for biological warfare on her ... Somehow
she manages to escape the gaschamber, & while her pursuers, trying to gas
her, only gas themselves, she makes a clear getaway with the help of her
FBI-friends ... only to be eventually run over by a truck. FBI-agant
Narimoto is left behind, having to battle the alien Indians ... A
science fiction/mystery/horror-farce, that deliberately borrows from the X
Files & David Lynch as well as any number of Japanese ghost stories
(which is quite a mix) among others. The jokes though are not always on point
& sometimes seem to lead nowhere, a very mazelike way of storytelling,
incorporating different time planes & layers of reality make this one
interesting, even worthwile nevertheless.
