Matthew (Ben Chaplin) is a twentysomething egocentric machoman who for some
reason cannot leave his appartment - the audience doesn't learn that he is
actually agoraphobic until a later episode -, so the only joy he has in his
life is to mentally abuse his friends Mandy (Samantha Janus) & Marty
(Matthew Cottle) - who are tenants at his appartment - & to wax his
surfboard, which will probably never see water as he is not likely to ever
leave his appartment again.
His surpremacy however is challenged when lovely Mandy starts dating boxer
Paul Johnson (David Harewood), who is seriously intimidating Matt, & timid
Marty actually has a date with attractive American girl Nancy (Lisa Orgolini) -
both things Matt is definitely left out of.
However, when Paul can't have sex with Mandy as he has a fight in a few
days, & Marty blows his date when he is literally losing Nancy (who is
ready & willing to have sex with him), Matthew regains the upper hand - for
the time being.
For a sticom (& Game On is a sitcom, which you might not have noticed
from my synopsis), Game On is surprisingly bold in touching very serious issues
(& having 3 sexually frustrated leads, one of whom is an agoraphobic abusive lead
are just some of these issues) - & the
series does so in a surprisingly funny way, too.
