Marty (Mattew Cottle) tells his agoraphobic & abusive
landlord/flatmate/friend Matt (Ben Chaplin) that he will be mocing out to go to
Mancherster to study to be a teacher - which hurts Matt more than his macho
image would allow him to show ... so he puts an ad into the papers the very
next day, advertising Marty's room exclusively to girls. It's only when Marty
gets beaten up by a bunch of 11-year old girls that he changes his plans &
decides to keep his rom & go on working as a bankclerk ... but by now Matt
already wants to rent out the room to lovely Jessica (Shebah
Ronay) ...
Matt & Marty's flatmate, attractive Mandy (Samantha Janus) meanwhile is
trrying to keep the longest relationship she had in a very long time (it's
lasting for almost a week now) alive, even though the magic is gone & her
boyfriend Graham (Jonathan Dow) is starting to bore her to death. & as
sitcoms go, she goes to a club with her friend Claudia (Rebecca Lacey) one
night & meets Jason (David Curtiz), whom she is immediately attracted to,
& the 2 start a little snogging, before Mandy, shocked about what she did,
leaves the club through a toilet window.
Of course, when Mandy is finally meeting Graham's family, Jason turns out to
be his brother ...
Despite the fact that the whole Mandy-subplot about her getting it on with
her boyfriend's brother is little more than a tried & true sitcom-mainstay,
this is yet another funny episode, that digs deeper & deeper into its
protagonists' sad lives.
