- The Sinful Bitches: A young couple (Reina Terror, Faceboy)
from Nebraska has only just come to New York City to try and make it
big - but since they are short on cash, they have to rent a room in
the seediest part of town from the sleaziest landlady in town
(Reverend Jen). And the first day Mr Nebraska is out looking for a
job, the landlady drugs Mrs Nebraska and pimps her out to whoever's in
need. When hubby comes home he is shocked, but since he has failed to
deliver on his own for quite some time now, the Missis has come to
like the new lifestyle presented to her.
- The Bitches of Bowery: A girlgang (Reverend Jen, Stormy Leather, Femme Appeal) is
terrorizing NYC's Lower Eastside, paying special attention to a
catholic schoolgirl (Reina Terror), whom they abduct and introduce to
alcohol, drugs, sex and debauchery, just because she was waiting for
her boyfriend (Faceboy) in too seedy a bar for her own good.
- Killer Unicorn: A young gay man (Faceboy) constantly finds
himself on the receiving end of the bullying of a bunch of overaged
college jocks and their girlfriends - until he receives the Killer
Unicorn-costume per mailorder, a cheaply looking unicorn costume that
turns him into an invincible superhero - and now it's payback time!!!
- Elf Workout!: Basically a parody of your typical workout
video, in which Reverend Jen, wearing elves ears, shows you how to
work out while drinking beer.
Four films that are loud, offensive, suffer from a complete lack of
subtlety, don't always meet any aesthetic standards at all, are often
tasteless to the point of being plain wrong - and all of this is meant as a
compliment: The four films in this collection are welcome timewarps back
to an era where grindhouse cinema still reigned supreme, without all the
postmodern additives of later years, without in-jokes, unsubtle
wannabe-subtle winks to the audience, forced-upon political correctness,
apologetic undercurrents and the like. This is just in-your-face madness
that's pleasently nostalgic without being derivative, that's wild without
being plain dumb or overly self-conscious and that doesn't restrain itself
according to popular trends. Sure, this collection of shorts isn't for
everybody's taste, but if you're into classic grindhouse entertainment and
the outrageousness of early John Waters, you should at least give this one
a try!
