Evan's (Arnie Rodriguez) mother has just died, and now he and his
boyfriend Stan (Austin Green) are going through the boxes she has left
him, including one labelled Mary Ann, which suddenly brings back memories
of Evan's sister who died when he was four. Back in the day, she was the
world to him, but as he was quite that young when she died, he has since
pretty much forgotten all about her. But the box, filled with her toys,
doesn't only bring back her memories, it also brings back her, in the
flesh, as if to make up for all the lost years ... It's hard to
figure what to make of this film: Up until the finale it's actually pretty
alright, well-acted and well-directed, building up tension ... and then
nothing, no resolution to the story, no examination of the new
circumstances the last plottwists poses, no bringing the story arc to a
satisfactory ending, no nothing basically. A shame, because this could
have been interesting otherwise.
