A woman - or is it 6 women (Colette Kenny McKenna, Krystle Fitch,
Anastasia Blue, Tanya Erin Paoli, Kara A. Christiansen, Makaria
Trapatoris)? - is trapped in the basement of a serialkiller, and her body
is in a sad mutilated state. But she hasn't lost her will to live yet, so
she tries an escape through the crawlspace, slowly making her way in
between the walls of her tormentor's house, becoming a witness of his
atrocities in the process, spying on his scenarios of madness ... and yet,
everything she sees might be something completely else ... A
film like Flowers is hard to sum up, as it has no linear storyline
to grasp, is at times intentionally chaotic and totally surreal, and
refuses to make perfect sense upon just one (or five) viewing(s) - and
that's what's so totally fascinating about Flowers, it manages to
tell a nightmarish tale without words but in compelling pictures,
neglecting realism in favour of the logic of a nightmare, goes over the
top in terms of gruesomeness without ever becoming gratuitous, and shocks
in its slow pace rather than just throwing a slaughterhouse at the
audience. And see this all carried by a very visual directorial effort and a sextet of
able leading ladies, and you're in for ... something different, that much
is sure. It's definitely not your formula shocker ... but it will shock
you all the more for it! Want to find out more about Flowers
