Gangster Cardigan (Robert Frazer) is hell-bent on getting his hands on
the blueprints of professor Reynolds' (William Humphrey) new airplane, and
the finished airplane to go with them as well, and since the professor is
not selling, Cardigan just steals both - but he has not taken into account
Reynolds' test pilot Hal (Richard Talmadge), who is romantically linked to
Reynolds' daughter Jean (Gertrude Messinger), and who is such a daredevil
that he takes up pursuit immediately, and being pushed out of a speeding
car, being beaten half dead by his adversaries repeatedly, having to jump
from one building to the next across the street, having to jump down
buildings and being locked up can't keep him from restealing the
blueprints in Reynolds' favour. With the blueprints back, Hal goes after
the plane, entering it in mid-flight and bringing it down and all the
baddies to justice ... Ok, so this film might not have much of
an original plot, but it has got action, and lots of it, from car chases
to fistfights, daredevil stunts to aerial fights - and with
actor/stuntmanRichard Talmadge handling the lead, one can rest assured
that all the stunts are authentic and as spectacular as possible
considering the low budget of the film. Sure, the limited financial
resources of a small studio like Reliable give an action film like
this one a slightly crude look, but actually, that's also part of this
film's charm.
