Tony (Elton Chong) and Martin are two graverobbers and con-men who
persuade an elderly hotel owner to provide them with free lodging, and in
exchange they will use their spitirual powers to help him find his missing
daughters. Meanwhile, both Tony and Martin fall in love with the old man's
other daughter, Fanny. However, the place is under constant attack from
the Black Dragon, who sometimes disguises as a vampire (for no discernible
reason), other times not. Black Dragon eventually kills both the old man
and Martin ... oh, and he knows some spiritual kung fu by the way, but not
all of it. Fortunately, Tony knows where Black Dragon keeps his master
(Eagle Han) chained up to teach him more, frees the master and tries to
persuade him to teach him spiritual kung fu. However, the master is a
shrewd sort of guy, he refuses to ever get up from his cross-legged
position (which means Tony has to carry him a great deal), tricks Tony
into building him a hut and the like. It's only after he has humiliated
Tony for days that he finally agrees to teach him. Eventually, Black
Dragon attacks, kills the master who has just now gotten up from his
cross-legged position for the first time in years, then gets into a fight
with and almost kills Tony. Then he wants to rape virginal Fanny to
achieve the highest goal in spiritual kung fu, but she, while not versed
in martial arts, at least knows how to handle a dagger to defend herself.
In the end however the Black Dragon kills himself in what is best
described as a slapstick accident, he steps onto the back end of a
pitchfork, and ... Basically, little more than a mess of a
movie: The plot seems to be weirdly disjointed, with several narrative
threads making no sense at all, the whole thing cannot decide whether to
be drama or comedy, and the shifts from one to the other come without
warning or motivation, and no proper use is made of the supernatural
elements of the film. On top of that, the comedy is rather puerile, and
Elton Chong frankly isn't very funny. Still, at least the cross-legged
master and the pitchfork ending are things to chuckle at, and the whole
thing has a bit of that so-bad-it's-good quality - even if it's not great
even in that respect ...
