A priest (Tom Lodewyck) is stealing the wife (Debbie Rochon) of an
innocent man. A couple (Chris Burchette, Rachel Grubb) see themselves
forced to torture and kill again and again, even if they don't want to and
have nightmares about it. Their daughter (Shannon Lark) loses a pendant on
the beach ... and her whole existance could depend on it. A girl (Kaylee
Williams) finds the pendant, and learns from a psychic (Linnea Quigley)
that finding it might mean she's now an instrumental part of a dark
prophecy ... Point is, according to this prophecy, Hell will unleashed
on earth should certain events align, and a group of demons (Lodewyck,
Rochon, Tony Todd, Camden Toy, Debrta Lamb, Brinke Stevens, Angus Scrimm,
Nick Principe) really don't want that, seeing earth as their own
playground and humans as their playthings. So they form an alliance to
prevent things from happening - but the problem is, they don't really have
a masterplan, and especially the priest is more powerhungry than what's
good for him and his demon friends ... Ok, I have to admit Disciples
is a bit on the convoluted side, and I'm not exactly sure whether I got
all the plot right ... but while watching it this hardly matters, as it's
a really good and twisted movie that, despite being a bit confusing, is
perfectly structured and paced, features shocks and suspense in all the
right spots, and sports a cast of colourful characters and even some
self-conscious camp. And the acting is really top notch in this one -
true, one might expect no less from such a star-studded cast, but it's
worth a mention still. Totally worth a look!
