  Lord Fordingham (James Villiers) has been robbed by highwayman Dick Turpin (Richard O'Sullivan), which naturally enrages him, so much so that he puts a reward on Turpin's head. Overhearing this, Turpin, whom Fordingham doesn't recognize because he was masked, and his sidekick Swiftnick (Michael Deeks) pose as bounty hunters, and doind so are quick to win Fordingham's trust. Of course, Turpin's arch-nemesis Captain Spiker (David Daker) learns about the reward as well, but he leaves a less than favourable impression on Fordingham, so much so that Turpin manages to convince him that Spiker is really Turpin. That said, Spiker is more ruthless than ever when trying to smoke out Turpin, leading him to burn down the inn of Turpin's accomplice Big Nell (Joan Rhodes). As a sort of revenge, Turpin lets Spiker capture him and take him to Fordingham, where he proves beyond a doubt that Spiker is Turpin thanks to having the loot of the Fordingham robbery placed on Spiker beforehands. So Turpin and Swiftnick net in the reward on Turpin's head and hand it over to Big Nell to rebuild her inn.

A rather fun episode as it plays on its characters' (and also actors') strengths while the madcap scheme at its center is really fun and entertainingly executed. That all said, I wouldn't call this a masterpiece, maybe not even count it among the best episodes of the series, but if you're at all into the series, you'll find this one quite enjoyable.
