In an effort to save her friends (Callie Snow, James Panetta) from a
helicopter attack, Destiny (Debbie D) the vampire mermaid is knocked out
and has a weird vision in which she saves Frankenstein (James Panetta)
from his own monster (Jim Ewald), and in return he invites her to his
hide-out in a lighthouse where he performs experiments to bring his dead
wife back to life - and he thinks Destiny's blood might just do the trick.
Thing is, Frankenstein's assistant Justine (Deborah Dutch) has been in
love with him since chidlhood, and she doesn't want Elisabeth to be reborn
again, nor Frankenstein to fall in love with Destiny, who's Elisabeth's
splitting image - so she convinces the monster, whom she feeds behind
Frankenstein's back, to kill Destiny. But once it's revealed it was
actually Justine and not the monster who killed Elisabeth, nothing goes as
planned anymore ... A fun variation of the Frankenstein
myth that sets in only very late in the story, and somehow manages to
weave in Destiny seamlessly. Now in all, the whole thing
might not add anything new to the myth, despite the new characters, but
tells a lively little tale, with action in all the right places and witty
dialogue, plus a very likeable cast. Very enjoyable indeed!
