Twins Jin (Ploy Jindachote) and Jay (Sakda Keawbuadee) are the last of
their kind, descendants of the legendary snake people. But while Jay wants
to keep his race alive, Jin is captured by some gouvernment agency to be
studied and eventually made to breed ultimate warriors. However, she
escapes in an accident but loses her memory. Fortunately,
Win (Jessadaporn Pholdee), an ex-government agent plagued by his
conscience, picks her up and uses every trick in the book to keep her out
of the army's clutches. Eventually, the two of them settle in a remote
village, fall in love and lead a very normal life ... until of course the
army catches up with them, attacks the village in take-no-prisoners style
and tries everything to recapture Jin. Again, Win manages to keep her out
of harm's way, but while escaping, they cross paths with Jin's brother
Jay, who claims Jin for himself - and since Win sees himself no match for
the snake-man and knows Jay means Jin no harm, he lets her go - and when
the army attacks Jay and Jin, he does his best to help out, even if Win
needs no help and erradicates the whole army in his giant snake form ... Of
course this fantasy action flick of the ancient-legends-in-modern-times
variety is of the rather silly and simplistic variety, and you better not
expect multi-layered (or even two-dimensional) characters in that one, or
unexpected plottwists and the like. That said though, the film features
enough action and is fast-paced enough to let one forget its shortcomings
at least during its 90 minutes of running time, and even the somewhat
sloppy CGI-effects towards the end of the movie don't keep the film from
being entertaining - not entertaining on a very high level, and certainly,
Deep in the Jungle is anything but a masterpiece (or even a really
interesting film), but it's entertaining still ...
