After the USA is attacked with biological, nuclear, chemical,
bacteriological or whatever weapons, those close to Ground Zero turn into zombies, and
they turn everybody crossing their path into zombies as well. Even the
evacuation centers are eventually overrun by zombies, and within 3 months
all of the USA is zombiefied - but not all of America, two guys (Brian
Wright, Gary Ugarek) who have missed the attack by spending their time at
a shooting range drinking beer, the wife of one of them (Michelle Wright)
and her son (Connor Brandt) have had sense enough to hook up with a
survivalist friend (Dave Cooperman), who lives in the middle of nowhere,
where apparently not even zombies care to go. But after 6 months, their
supplies have run scarce, and they wonder what fate has in store for them. Another
zombie movie. There's not much more to say about this film, it remains
firmly within genre confines, doesn't even try to add anything to the
genre, is full of scenes known from oh so many other genre entries, and
just like these other genre entries suspiciously lacks irony. Sure, it's
well-enough made, especially considering its shoestring budget (reportedly
les than 10,000 Dollars), but a few original ideas sure wouldn't have
hurt, as it is it's above all else boring.
