Grant Williams' (Jim Davis) family moves into a lovely house in the
desert, which just happens to be haunted (in lack of a better word)
by aliens - benevolent aliens at first that arrive only in miniature form
and make themselves known only to Grant's granddaughter Jenny (Natasha
Ryan) ... but soon enough, the whole Williams' family is threatened by a
miniature spaceship, and dinosaur-like aliens fight each other right in
front of the porch. Eventually, too, Jenny, her mother (Marcy Lafferty)
and her father (Christopher Mitchum) disappear into thin air, but
eventually, it seems that good triumphs over evil (at least I think that's
what's happening) and the whole family is reunited in another dimension
... or the past or the future. And at the conclusion, Grant muses
"Maybe that's what was meant to be," though I have no idea what
he actually means by that. Very silly science fiction flick
that doesn't seem to have too much of a stringent story and instead just
treats us to a series of special effects that range from the horrible to
the really good, but that make little narrative sense. Add to this a less
than decent cast trying to breathe life into their underdeveloped
characters and an uninspired directorial effort, and you pretty much know
what you're in for. If you love bad sci-fi just as much as I do, you
should probably watch this one, otherwise, it's not worth your time and
money.
