Ever since a gang of thugs have killed his girlfriend Shelly (Miriam
Maggio) and left him for dead, Eric (Daniele Cervellera) has been overcome
by grief and has lost the will to live. When he rather by chance witnesses
a gangland murder though, he questions the victim who's only got a few
breaths left inside him, and thus gets onto the trail of T-Bird's (Angelo
Boccuni) gang - the very gang that killed Shelly. Eric dons makeup that
makes him look like a deranged clown and goes after T-Bird's thugs one by
one, getting some information out of each one of them then killing them in
an often gruesome manner. Detective Albrect (Vito Napolitano), who has
been on T-Bird's trail for years, follows close behing Eric, and at one
point almost arrests him, as murder is murder, whether or not the victims
are assholes - but he understands Eric's pain and lets him slip. But the
closer to T-Bird Eric gets, the more dangerous does his mission become, as
he's by no means invulnerable and has already been wounded several times
... The Crow: Shreds of Memories is a feature-length fan
movie made on a very modest budget - but it really doesn't show: As for
being a fan movie, The Crow: Shreds of Memories shows real love and
understanding for James O'Barr's comicbook and does its best to recreate
its atmosphere without post-modern shenanigans. Andb what the film might
lack in budget, it makes up with very interesting and engaging camerawork,
a well-structured story that also shows more heart than one would expect,
and of course, plenty of action and violence where needed. A pretty cool
movie, actually!
