Two underage girls (Molly O'Meara, Amy Perkins) have gotten a little
bit drunk at a party and are now on their way home when they're stopped by
a cop (Doug Lito) of the rather violent and sleazy variety. And while one
of the girls is quickly tied up and thrown into the back of the cop's car,
he prepares to have his way with the other - when a stranger (Ted Leib)
shows up and tries to intervene. And while he's quickly shot dead by the
cop, he has brought enough weapons to give the girls at least a fighting
chance ... Now the film starts nicely, as the situation the
girls get into feels real, is well played and filmed. Sure it's formulaic,
but a good build-up to ... well, that's the problem, once the film goes
from pure formula into story - when the conveniently armed stranger shows
up - the film falls apart. Basically, the plottwist of the stranger
arriving is just too far fetched, doesn't feel real anymore, and since
it's the one turning point in the story everything after that doesn't feel
real anymore either. Bit of a shame, really, as there seems to be lots of
talent behind this.
