Candy (Lina Romay) is a porn performer, having sex (masturbation,
lesbian and boy/girl) live on stage, and she seems to enjoy every minute
of it. But during an extended masturbation scene, she muses over what got
her here: She once was a very normal, buttoned up girl, but her sister
Pepi (Juana de la Morena), whom she lived with back in the day, used to
always leave her door open when having sex with a certain gentleman - and
Candy got really turned on by peeping in on them as an anonymous voyeur,
masturbating to their lovemaking every time ... until Pepi one time caught
her, called her in and pretty much told her to have sex with her gentleman
as well. Candy did and enjoyed it, but her traditional set of values
persuaded her this was wrong, and thus the next day she ran away, and
right into the clutches of Pete (Antonio Mayans), a psychologist with a
focus on his patients' sexuality. He tught her that there's nothing wrong
with her longings, both for her sister's lover and for her sister,
actually ... and she fell in love with him and tries to seduce him -
forcing him to admit he's gay and sex between them simply was not going to
happen. Again, Candy ran away, and this time she tried to kill herself but
was saved by Katy (Elisa Vela), whom she quickly fell in love with, even
though it was originally only Katy's plan to have her as a partner in a
threesome with her lover Tony (Antonio Rebollo) - but soon enough she
finds out Candy's a much better partner than Tony, and she ditches Tony.
Oh, and she admits to Candy she's a live porn performer and persuades her
to perform with her. Their live performances turn Candy on to no end, and
eventually she figures to invite her sister and her lover to join them on
stage ... which ultimately proves too much for Katy, and she kills herself
in a fit of jealousy, upon which a very desperate Candy makes love with
her body one last time before it loses all its warmth. Intimate
Confessions of an Exhibitionist is most certainly not the most
interesting film in either Jess Franco's or Lina Romay's filmography,
rather it's a pretty routine piece of softcore porn (that even pushes the
envelope a couple of times) made up of passionate sex scenes, a feeble
narrative framework that readily shows the obsessions of its makers, and
carried by an unfortunately rather irony-free approach. Now if you're into
softcore porn from yesteryear, the result is really ok - no masterpiece,
mind you, but girls who are really into what they're doing, and who're
pretty hot on top of that. Plus, for the cineaste, there's even the
occasional interesting shot or pan in there (though don't expect too much)
- but the film is just really not up to Franco and Romay's best efforts
(many of which are quite a bit sleazier than Intimate Confessions of an
Exhibitionist mind you).
