Quincy (Bailey Ingersoll) has pretty much just lost her father (Jim
Dougherty), a surgeon (who sometimes took his work home with him), so
having to sit through anatomy class in college doesn't help as it only
brings up childhood memories that seem much more painful now than they
were then. It's only when tooth ache strikes and forces her to take a trip
to the dentist (Chad Newman) that laughing gas infused anesthesia gives
her a new outlook on life - that just might include clowns and violence
... Director Wendy Keeling herself turns in a rather amusing performance
as the dentist's no-nonsense receptionist. Now I think it's
only fair warning to say that if you're afraid of clowns don't watch this
one - though if you were you might not watch anything with
"clown" in the title anyway. That said, I'm not scared of clowns
one bit, but the film's ending is still rather bizarrely disturbing - but
that's also due to the film's very clever build-up, which might seem a bit
confusing, even random at first, but makes total sense in the end. And
that the film's very well-filmed and Bailey Ingersoll's central
performance is spot-on throughout only help making this a totally
worthwhile movie.
