Cleo (Jennifer Sky) & company (Gina Torres, Victoria Pratt) find themselves pitted against
Torres' childhood foe Creegan (Joel Tobeck), who once killed her parents
& runs around in a clown outfit. Creegan succeeds in abducting the
girls' servant android Patrick Kake & also meddles about with the
(computer) voice in Torres' head, but in the end - as these shows go -
good triumphs over evil, Creegan though manages to escape in the nick of
time & does leave you with the feeling he will be back.
It's only episode 2 of the series & already the main character is
getting on ones nerves, mainly because apart from much shrieking in an
annoyingly high voice, she isn't really doing much (ok, so she did a bit
of surgery in this one, but that was during a shoot-out, & that
was by far more interesting) & her somewhat naive lines, that
actually worked in the pilot which had to establish her as a chick from
the 21st century in the 26th century, are not funny any more once the
character is established. Also, her predilection for somewhat skimpy
futuristic fashion does not work all that well once compared to the
rather revealing outfits of Pratt & Torres (Heck, Pratt even does a
shootout in underwear, for crying out loud). Still, on the plus side,
due to only being half an hour long, the show is pretty fast paced, so
all these flaws don't get too much into the way ! |
