Alvin (Kyle Turner) and Ray (Stan Alto) are doing the best to keep our
border safe at the remote outpost they're patroling - simply by shooting
everybody dead who comes too close to the border wall. Who are these
people though who'd risk everything to do just that? Alvin and Ray don't
know - or even care. They're just happy they're up there keeping the
status quo, rather than down there, risking their lives - to better their
lives one would suppose ... Border Patrol is a very
clever little (just over three minutes) short - and exactly because it
never tries to be just that, clever. The film as a whole does not try to
overwhelm its audience with its message or spoonfeed soundbits or
anything, instead just lets the dialogue flow rather naturally and leaves
just enough room between the lines for everyone to come to their own
conclusions. Instead, the film concentrates on its innate tension and
atmosphere, and thus gets the most out of the little story it tells ...
and it gets one thinking - in the best possible way!
