Cop Shun (David Leong), who has been heading a secret sting operation against a crime ring, is shot dead by the criminals he was after, and so is his wife Ah Mei (Maggie Tan), but not before she's brutally gang-raped. However, his 13 year old sister Qing (Joey Leong) gets away with a CD-Rom full of evidence.

Several days later, Shun's mum (Cheng Pei-Pei) shows up at his superior Woon (Kenneth Tsang) to whitewash his name, because since his death, Shun has been accused of corruption and the like (which of course was part of the sting operation). At the same time, Shun's sister Qing shows up at his old partner Shen's (Vincent Tee) place, convinces him she is actually possessed by Shun's spirit, and in this condition has killed all his killers and now needs Shen's help to go after Woon, who has been running the criminal ring from within the police force.

Shen organizes for Qing/Shun, Woon and Shun's mum to all meet at a graveyard - where it turns out that Shen is actually Woon's accomplice - which is bad news for Qing and her mother, but then it turns out that mum is actually possessed by Ah Mei's spirit while Shun manages to possess Woon, and ultimately, the dead couple has its revenge on Woon and Shen, the cause of all the problems ...

Basically, this is a film that tries to be very clever ... but pretty much isn't. The point is this, the whole story is set up within the first 15 minutes, then the whole setup is told again in flashbacks and in far greater (and more explicit) detail (especially the murder of Shun and Ah Mei is unnecessarily extended to utter gruesomeness). This goes on for approximately an hour, in which no new information to the plot is added at all. It's only in the finale, when we learn that both Woon and Shen are baddies and mum is possessed as well that the film finally gains any narrative momentum and even offers a few original surprises, but that's almost too little too late, and it also doesn't help that the film tries to tie up a few loose ends that didn't need tieing up after the finale, which somehow damages its impact. At least, Joey Leong gives an incredible performance, especially considering her young age.

The film was actually based on a short director Chai Yee-Wei made in 2007 - and in my opinion the short format is much better suited to tell this film's plot.
